The Pesticide Database presents content pulled together by Marilen Pool. The database presents information on more than 100 pesticide chemicals documented as used in the context of museum collections for pest control. Each entry includes information on:

  • chemical nomenclature
  • examples of trade names
  • historical use
  • legislative status
  • physical characteristics
  • uses
  • persistence
  • chemical properties
  • effects of pesticides on collections
  • an example of an US EPA label
  • an image of the chemical in botanical form or in a container
How to get the most out of this database

For the best user experience, click on the double arrow View larger version in the bottom right corner of the database window below. This will open the database in the Airtable interface. There you can scroll through the chemicals in the list on the left or filter, group, and sort to access the pertinent information.
